Sorry Tazz, have to disagree. The scriptures do not support the idea of them being one in the same. There's God, Jehovah, Christ, the first born of all creation Col.1:15 and the holy spirit wich is not an entity but a force. The force of God's will. This could be a very long subject. So if you have a mind to look them up I'll just leave some scriptures. De6:4, Mar10:18, Isa44:6, Php2:10, John8:42, 12:49 Holy Spirit- Mt3:16, John20:22, Ac7:55-56,Re7:10, Ps104:30. Eh, that's enough.

I thought Wizard was speaking plainly. I'll translate in paraphrase. If you study Quantum particle and string theorem you can see the Holy Ghost or as I just said in previous post "God's force of will". God is indeed everywhere at once because he operates at the subatomic level. Pure energy.

To Hell with a collection plate! Livetoride, do you think I would be so bold as to pass a plate when I think the practice is nothing more than for the preacher to pay his bill's with? LOL. Anyway, I concur with Druid that no where in the Bible does it say God and Jesus are one in the same. Jesus may have said something like, the road to my father's kingdom is thru me(something like that anyway). But, it still does not say Jesus is God nor are they one in the same. Hence, it is MY belief that Jesus should not be worshipped. He may very well be the "Son of God," or "The Mesiah," but he is not God. I find some of the Hebrew text's to be very interesting. They believe that Lucifer is not God's advisary, but rather more like a prosecuting attorney. Lucifer present's to God all of the evidence in which a human should be damned. By damned, it is meant to fall from God's grace, and not the proverbial cast into a lake of fire and brimstone that is known as "Hell." To be taken out of God's grace mean's God has pretty much turned his back on you because you turned your back on him. Now that would be Hell, to not be tight with God. When you read the New Testament, you find Jesus to be tempted by Lucifer. To me, this sound's like God sending Lucifer to test Jesus in his faith and loyalty based on how the Jew's view Lucifer. Remember, ol Jesus was not the only one to be tempted by Lucifer. So, does that make the Jew's right or wrong? Who really know's.

Sorry fellas. I have always believed that Jesus and God are the same. I always will.
I believe that God came to earth in human form-Jesus. Jesus did not come to earth because He was bored. He was here to make a way for us (Gentiles) to get to God. That's why when we pray, we do it in Jesus' name. Otherwise, God cannot hear you.
Guess I am just one of those throw backs who believes what I see and feel. God is very real to me. His words are the only true laws.

Was watching on the history channel earlier today about the birth of Jesus. I think what most people forget, is, it's not the birth that matter's, but the ressurection. That's what the whole faith is based on. Whilst I do not worship Jesus as God, I find that people need to get their fact's straight about the true nature of any religion. The show had made a mention of the book of James. Thought it interesting because as the show implied, most people don't know who James was or is. Most people assume Jesus was an only child. What I really find interesting is, how many people are wandering around with the blood of Jesus in them. Be it from Jesus himself, or any of his sibling's. Kinda neat I think to ponder.

Jesus had several siblings. As to Jesus blood line....anyone who can trace their ancestors back to the tribe of Judah (One of the tribes descended from Israel) can be assured they are a distant relative of Jesus.
James was a brother of Jesus. Recently, someone found an ossuary that was thought to be the original with James' remains in it. Some say it's a fake, others don't. I don't whether it is or not...........

I do not know about the rest of you, but this new thread has been a great christmas present for me. I have been blessed this Christmas Day Morning Reading it. I have been impressed that nobpdy has slammed anybody for their religious beliefs and that we all have can learn from each other, however, we may not totally agree. I have a lot to add, but we are about to leave for church, lol. I hope all of you have a wonderful and blessed christmas.

Well friends its 9:10pm at the Tater household and everybody has gone to bed after a long and busy day. I would like to make a couple of quick comments before I go between the sheets with Mrs. Tater. 1. Yes, Jesus has other brothers and I believe sisters. We talked about this in Sunday School just a couple of weeks ago, however, for the life of me, I can't find the scripture right now. I do remember one other brothers name was Judas, this brother was not Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him. I am a "Born again Christian". #2 Just what is a Christian? I read where some of you have talked about this. Well, let me give you Ole Tater's belief's. I am Southern Baptist, an active Deacon at FBC in Marianna, however, I by no means am a expert on religion. I learned more new information here this morning reading this thread than I have in years. Well, back to the subject. Gods word says that even that satan and the demons in hell believe in god. I heard on the radio just this afternoon that 92% of all americans believe in god, but I don't feel that makes you a christian. I believe that when you become a christian, you have a life changing experience. Do you become perfect? Sinless? No. But, as a christian, you try to live a christ like life as yoiu can. My friends, when we stand before almighty God, he is not going to judge us as on our works or how good a person we have been, God is going to judge us as to what is in our heart. God judges your heart, you and God are the only two people in the world as to who knows whether you are going to heaven or hell. So, I will conclude my little sermon hear by asking each of us the Christmas Day night, lets search our heart, including myself, especially myself. Luke 1: 26-33

Mr. Tater. Bravo for you. Christians are not perfect or sinless, but they are forgiven. I am a Christian and have been as far back as I can remember. But I must admit, I am not a good one. That means I still smoke, curse (sometimes), don't serve God like I should, my prayers are weak and sickening, and I don't put Satan on the run often enough. But in my own defense, I have been back in church since June of 2001. I have done some serious changing in some ways. And being a backslider makes it even more difficult. If you have the Holy Spirit within you, do NOT ever let it go. Regardless of the circumstances.........NEVER let go. I can tell you from personal experience, it will be a mistake you will live to regret.
I know what I know about religion because I read about it alot. It really doesn't matter about church history, God is the same today as in the beginning.

I'm really happy that this thread took off. People always say not to discuss politics and religion. Hell, like I said before, they're my two favorite subject's to talk about. When I explain my belief's to most people, the first thing that come's out of their mouth is, " Oh, you must be an atheist," or "agnostic." Why do I have to be either of these thing's? I am neither. Kinda piss's me off because people who think they "know" don't know shit. Agnostic means one who needs proof of God, but yet does not dismiss God may exist(a TRUE skeptic). I don't need proof to know God exists. Without going into too much detail about my life here on this forum, I'll give an example of why I know there's a God. One of my favorite thing's to do, is break out the telescope on a clear, still, moonless night and look at planet's and galaxies. Jupiter and Saturn are out this time of year. When I see the cloud band's on Jupiter and it's many moon's and see Saturn with it's ring's so big and clear, I know there's a God. Only God could create something so big and beautiful. I think God put those there for us to see. Just another example of his work. People will often ask, "If there's a God, why does he let bad thing's in this world happen?" Easy. Most "bad" thing's that happen are due to MAN. Some may say Satan, but I truly believe man is more often the reason. According to every book I've read on the subject, and they all have some slight variation to thing's, MAN is the only creature God gave free will to. Ah, what a gift. To be able to do great thing's and yet be able to destroy ourselves. To be able to praise God and yet denounce him. I also believe that God tends not to interfer because of this "gift." Why should he? Although I do not believe we were created in the image of God, (because to me God cannot be conceived in any image human's can understand) I do tend to think that God can and on occasion does interfer at time's when he see's fit, but mostly let's us play it out. After all, God can do whatever he want's

Your on target Knuck. God set the universe in motion and let it run. Many "bad things" are mans fault but some are merely time and chance. Eccl. 9:11. Sometimes you have to let your children fall down on their own without interfering.

hey Taz,
I like this thread best of all. I like something postive, we work in such a negative system, that one must balance the feelings by doing something postive. For me it is time with faimly and faith. I am Catholic and do believe that Jesus had no biological borthers and sisters as he called all of us his brothers and sisters. But what we believe is not important, it is just that we beleive. Peace to you all
