My favorite books are Samuel I, Samuel II, Kings I and Kings II. I am very interested in King David. He just seems to human to me. He was guilty of SO much but yet he repented and was forgiven. Although his "house" suffered much because of his sin, he is someone we could all learn from. Even God said about David "he is a man after my own heart".
Cool.....................

David...Crosby...you are so right Joe43. I just hope that his forgiveness comes strictly on the spiritual level. He needs to answer to man for his crimes as well.

DESPITE OUR EFFORTS to keep him out, God intrudes. The life of Jesus is bracketed by two impossibilities: a virgin's womb and an empty tomb. Jesus entered our world through a door marked "No Entrance" and left through a door marked "No Exit." Peter Larson, Prism (Jan/Feb 2001

TY, Knuckledragger. It has always been a pet peeve to me to see someone carrying a copy of the new testament only. Why is the Bible the only book people will tear in half and carry the last half around? I mean how could you possibly try to grasp Revelations with out the book of Daniel? There is a continuing thread in the bible but you would not see it if you don't read from beginning to end. I do recommend a modern english copy. Those thy, thees and yea's can drive you buggy.

I agree. I for one, think that it is wrong and blasphames to whorship Jesus. Jesus supposedly said himself, that he was NOT to be whorshipped. There is only ONE God, and I'm sorry, but I do not believe Jesus to be "God". I really like to piss off hard core Bible beater's when it come's to their practice's at time's. I alway's ask if they have a Christmas tree up, and the expected response is, yes. I also ask if they have a Santa Clause in the house. Again, yes. Then I inform them, that these come from Pagan tradition's and they get madder than hell! It is also easier to make sense of the Bible with the Apocrypha's. Tazz had stated that these book's were omitted from the "FINAL CUT" because they could not be verified. My question is, how can one verify ANY book's from the Bible? Wait, I'll go ahead and answer. YOU CAN'T. I'm a firm believer that these book's were omitted because they may have threatend the "Church". I would also like the Vatican to release all of the Dead Sea Scroll's. I think they won't because it may threatin the Church or Christianity itsself.

There was another reason those books never made it to the Bible. I just can't remember what that reason is. Again, I will have to do a little research around here and see if I can find out what I used to know!

The books were left out because they could not be verified and because supposedly those books did not "fit" the story line. I do have a Christmas tree and Santa Clause. I do not worship them. They are just a symbol of Christmas. I think it goes without saying that Jesus was not born on Christmas day. I think (if I recall correctly) that he was born sometime in April by our calendar. Again, more research is required. Dead Sea scrolls? www.deadseascrolls.com/index1.htmAll sorts of stuff on this site. (Lotsa BS too!)

Most people use the New Testament because they believe the Old Testament is not relevent today. Well it is very relevent today. The biggest difference is easy. The Old Testament is the old cevenant. The New Testament is the new covenant. Since I am reading the entire Bible for the 7th time, (from beginning to end) I can say that everyone should do it at least once. There is a "thread" to it. If you haven't done it, then you don't know what you are missing. It was only this last time that I caught where Jannes and Jambres taunted Moses. In other words, every time you read it, you catch alot of information you missed before.
Man.............it is really something else to read. If you haven't done it, then do it. It will open your eyes to all sorts of things.

Christmas has very little to do with Christ. It began around the second or third century as an attempt by the church to recruit the pagan Celts how had a big holiday during the winter solstice. Since they were big into nature, evergreens, mistletoe, silver bough were all holy, the christians incorporated these items into a holiday of their own. Christ could not have been born in Dec. by the account because the shepherds had the flocks in the fields. It gets cold and snowy in that region so the sheep would not be out grazing. The rest of the things we identify with christmas came about later, like the yule log from Germany, were added similiarly. Don't even get me started on Easter. Karma to Tazz, no less for seven times.

WOW! I'm surprised I didn't get blasted for saying I think it is blasphemes to worship Jesus! To me, he is no "lord" of mine. The only one who can claim that title is God.

Ol Druid need's another karma. You're pretty sharp with this stuff. I bet we'd get along quite well in person. Maybe we can start our own religion? LOL!

Jeez guys! I wouldn't blast ya for not believing the same thing I do. I only do that to "buttfaces". Neither of you qualify YET. ;D
I do believe in the Trinity. Father, Son and Holy Ghost. I do believe that God and Jesus are One in the same. There has never been any other belief for me. I guess I am just too old to change.
Anyhow, Thanks for the karma. Can I have some money instead?

It was my hope that no one would be criticized for their belief's. I started this thread because it is very interesting to me and I like to learn what other people think on this topic. I think this thread give's everyone a chance to express their belief's without fear of ridicule.

Knuck/Druid:
Start your own religion. I kinda like the idea..."Church of the Knuckledraggin' Druid". I'd attend faithfully. Two points to remember though:
1. If you invite Wizardborn in as a guest preacher - he has to speak in laymen's terms.
2. If you pass the collection plate - I'll probably sh*t in it.
