That's what I keep on telling guys at work. "They are..." "They don't..." "They did...", the only they I see is the STATE! OUR Union is made up of US. WE need to do something. Either piss (get off your ass and show up in YOUR politicians offices and tell them what we want), or get the **** off the pot (quit your bitching).

2nd time and hat careful boys I might be new to the site but I've rode this rodeo for many years 1990's included the rallies in tally too. Your preaching to the choir, but the Teamsters is not the answer. Actually it has very little to do with any CBU. Solidarity is the key with that PBA has the political connections. Now that's about all I got to say about that.

Ron Silver is one of the worst people to have right now. No wonder we are getting it worse than others now.

He is not really intensely hated but is not particularly popular among the Reps from what I hear. We have to get Scott out of there to get hardly anything now it appears. Hearing rumors we may win that FRS suit - that is probably our only chance to get anything soon.

The FRS contribution will be overturned, and all those who contributed will be refunded. That will probably be announced later this spring or summer.

AS ALL OF YOU ARE AWARE, TEAMSTERS LOCAL 2011 IS A PARTY TO THE FRS LAWSUIT and is updating its members on the lawsuit’s status. The Florida Supreme Court has indicated that a ruling on the FRS lawsuit, Rick Scott, ET. AL. vs. George Williams, ET AL (SC12-520) is expected no later than the start of the 2013 legislative session, which starts March 5, 2013. As it is customary for the Florida Supreme Court to release its rulings on Thursdays, we anticipate that the decision will be released to the public no later than the beginning of the next legislative session. The Court’s ruling and opinion will be made available in its entirety to the public no later than noon the same day it’s released and can be viewed by clicking on the following link; www.floridasupremecourt.org/decisions/opinions.shtmlWe will continue to update our members as we receive more information. fdocteamsters.org/news/frs-lawsuit-update

yeah they have been such a big help Keep saying 'They'. That's how the state is going to keep screwing us over. Divide and conquer. Keep us from thinking its Us (workers) against Them (employer) and instead make us focus on in-fighting. Keep the workers thinking that some magical "They" should be fixing things for us, rather than realizing it's WE that should be stepping up as a whole in order to fix our own problems. What have you done to let the state know they have to stop screwing us? What have you done to help those of us willing to step up and let them know? Nothing, that's what...except complain, and Monday morning quarterback those of us that are at least trying. Congratulations on being part of the problem rather than trying to be part of the solution. You probably didn't help when the PBA was here and begging for our support, and you aren't helping now when all we need is numbers. You want everything handed to you, free of charge and any personal effort just because you are you, and the state should just throw benefits your way for being just so awesome. Well, the world doesn't work that way, sparky. You complain that $15 is too much for us to ask, then you ask for a raise and better representation, a stronger contract and more and more and more...from a group you refuse to support. How about just sitting in the corner and shutting the f@(# up while grown folk fight your battles for you without your support...and you take whatever is given to you, which will probably be nothing, because the scraps from the state is exactly what your mealy mouthed a$$ deserves for sticking your hand out and refusing to ball it into a fist. All of you make me sick.

first off you have no idea what i have done where i have been and what i've been through. maybe you should congratulate yourself for being a idiot, pull your bottom lip over your head and swallow.... who filed the lawsuit i'll give you a clue it wasn't the TEAMSTERS, The lawsuit, Scott v. Williams, was filed by the Florida Education Association not the TEAMSTERS..... AND as far as the P.B.A. goes they wouldn't even respond to phone calls when THEY were closing OUR prison.... did either one show up for support NO..... and YES i was a member of the P.B.A. for over 15 years..... did i go to rallies in tally YES several times, so for your @$$ to talk about being handed to me you should know FACTS so you want to slam people maybe you should know what you're talking about .... KNOW YOUR ROLE AND SHUT YOUR MOUTH!!!

www.flpba.org/pdf/3PctRetCon/frs_supremes06-28-2012.pdfThis is the brief to the Supreme Court on the pension case- Ron Meyer (teachers) is the lead atty and Hal Johnson PBA is the co-counsel as shown. George Williams is the listed party but others are listed individuals represented by PBA etc. The teamsters signed on eventually which is required of course.
