Jester, I give a reference to the book of Thomas on page 18. Theres another one in there somewhere, but you'll have to dig through the pages and find the other one. I'm too lazy today. ;D

Wizard has ask that I post something in this thread today that would breathe new life into it possibly. I am stubborn in my beliefs and some times believe those beliefs superior because I abhor dogma and seek logic. However, not all Bible questions can be answered by logic or can they? I will now pose a question I've wondered about and give the most plausible answer I've come across. Then I'd like to hear other thoughts. My own have become tiresome to me. After Cain slew Able God made him a wanderer and fugitive in the face of the earth. Cain became sorely afraid that he would be killed and complained to God. The lord set a mark upon him so that anyone finding him would not kill him. What was the mark? The most reasonable answer I've heard(based logically) is this. Given that the most probable site of the garden of eden was in Iraq it can be assumed that the populace was olive skinned. Cain was being driven east after his deed and made his complaint in route. The mark God set upon him would have to be visible at some distance(at least an arrows distance) to be of any value. The mark was a much darker skin pigmentation as he fled unto the African continent where he had intercourse with his wife creating children in his image. So the question is was Cain the first black man? My answer has been, unlikely. I won't go into why because it may influence somebody's answer. So, if you would, put on your thinking caps and blow me away. There's a lot of brain power on here.

The Mark of Cain I believe was A tattoo, any who saw it would know him by it. I recall he was condemned to live with it for all eternity. As for the first black man I think not. As I recall Cain was banished to the land of Nod. And don't quote me on this; Nod loosely translates into mud people.
I have a question, any facts support Eve not being Adam's first wife.

First, there is no such thing as "fact" in the Bible. Adams first wife was named Lilith.

Well sure there is Knuck, just not many. Like its fact that Pilate was the roman Governor of the area. That's been borne out by secular texts and carved stone bearing his name. But I understand what you meant.

Glad you caught what I meant Druid. A karma for you. I was basing it on "spiritual" fact.

Tazz, you need to post a site that has the books taken out of the New Testament too. Or, at least sites that post the Dead Sea scrolls and the papers found in Egypt.

Funny thing about the Bible is it was meant as entertainment, a record of history, laws for mankind, revelations of the power of belief and love. But it is a book, at best I use it as a guide book. Unfortunately like most men I am afraid to ask for directions.
Druid from what reference did you draw the conclusion Eden was in Iraq?

Jester, start with Genesis 2:10 and then some name research and a little geography. It's been quite a few years since I researched it, so I couldn't begin to tell you where I found what. Maybe someone can recommend a single reference site.

"Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, 'Woe to Those who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost Our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values.
We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.
We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.
We have killed our unborn and called it choice.
We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.
We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem.
We have abused power and called it politics.
We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition.
We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression.
We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.
Search us, Oh, God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from Every sin and set us free. Amen!"
