I have never had to suffer through the loss of a child. And hopefully, I never will. I cannot even begin to imagine. But I can say that I do understand a "mothers' pain". There is absolutely nothing so heart wrenching than to watch a mother grieve for her child.
When my grands were born, I worried about something happening to them. But then I realized that if something did, there is no better place for them. If God wants to play with my Grands until I get there, it's okay with me.

Heres a couple of verses I like from the Gospel of Thomas. Saying 67: Jesus said, "Whoever knows everything but lacks within, lacks everything." Saying 70: Jesus said, "If you bring forth what is within you, what you have will save you, what you do not have within you, will kill you." THATS WHAT I'M TALKIN' ABOUT! Pretty profound statements I think. Even though I do not believe Jesus to be God, I think he was a pretty sharp guy with these "statements."

In March of 2001, my mother was taken from me, and a pastor stood by her bedside, asking me and my family to pray for her, at that time, I turned my back on the 'formal' religions, and became pagan, on the wiccan path. Knuckledragger had directed me here, to share insight and things with people, as he believes I should have that right. I hesitate, with all the persecution that pagans and wiccans have endured over the ages, but I do appreciate the fact that there is an open forum in which to discuss such topics. Thank You

legs, I have several friends that practice other"religions" besides Christianity including reiki, wiccan and kabbalah. I can say from my own experience that all of them have taught me different ways to look at things. It has not turned me into a nonbeliver but if anything has broaden my horizons. Being raised Catholic,to include Catholic school, as I grew older I questioned many things. But discussing, reading and opening my mind to these other "religions" have been a blessing. There is no "true" religion in my mind but if worshiping a cow patty brings inner peace into our selves, then so be it. All religions pretty much teach love and goodness and it don't get no better than that! As long as we as human beings don't use our beliefs to kill and destroy those that don't agree with us then anything is okay by me.

Since I'm new to this forum, I have sat here for the past longest, reading through all 14 pages. I must say that with each page, I braced myself for someone to "diss" someone else, as is usually the case in religious discussions. (It's happened to me!) I've been pleasantly surprised to see that everyone here has been courteous and respectful, even if not in complete agreement. That's refreshing to see.
For whatever it's worth, I'd like to add comments about the tragedy a few days ago. I believe that some of the children who died may have been aware of something about to happen to them, but in my belief that God is a merciful God, I cannot comprehend that He would let those little ones suffer. I have always believed in angels and their ministerings, with God's direction. I believe that they were attended immediately at the time of the accident so that they would not have to physically suffer.
We do want to blame someone when tragic situations happen, and most often it is God. Where was God? He was right there in the middle of the accident too -- protecting the little ones on the bus who lived; protecting Lilly Mae; and protecting the little ones who died, just in a different way from the others. My tears and prayers are being added to yours for the families and friends who are suffering, that God will attend them as well and give them the comfort they dearly need. And I believe that He is.
Although the children and their family members are apart for a while, my belief is that they will be able to see each other again one day. It's the time apart that hurts us so much.
Thanks for the opportunity to share...

Adding to the horrific accident, my belief is that, the children that very sadly passed, were what is known as Star People. Star People are people that are placed on earth, for a purpose, however long or short. In most religions, Star People are known simply as Angels. This doesnt ease the pain or sadness or diminsh the feeling of horrible loss. The families of the children should have no worries, the man who caused the accident will suffer karma no one would want to, and paying it back will be a difficult task. I would like to thank you for letting me post my views again, and welcoming me.

I wonder if God creates "punishers" in human form. I wonder what other souls he puts into human bodies, and I dont mean Jesus. Kinda weird concept to ponder, I understand. But I'm sure theres some people out there who feel they were born to accomplish something. Or maybe deliver something? Is the soul and personality the same? Or is one an extension of the other?

I know for a fact that there are angels in our midst. They do come in human form and disappear as quickly as they appeared.
One morning a man came to our door wanting to borrow some gas. He looked okay and his truck was up on the highway about 200 yards away. After telling him that we didn't have any; it dawned on me that my husband had just filled 3 five gallon cans and had put them in the shed. I went back to the door to tell him where the gas was and he wasn't there; neither was the truck. Total time was about 15 seconds.
I can recall at least a half a dozen times in the last two years this has happened. Very cool.

Tazz, this may sound corny, but you have indeed been touched by angels, you are a lucky woman. Also, pay attention to what your pets notice, as they are much more in tune with what we cannot see, and they will let you know 'someone' or 'something' is about. Cats for example, are called familiars, my familiar is a Siamese/Tabby, that discovered me when i was buying a motorcycle that was in pieces, she was sitting where the motor should have been in the frame. I brought her home with me, and for 2 years now, I have been somewhat 'warned' of things I otherwise would have not seen. I would like to start signing off by saying, Be Well, not only because of my Wiccan beliefs, but because I really do mean that. Be Well

Angels are beings that have placed themselves where I am plenty of times. It's just strange that one second you are carrying on a conversation with a total stranger and then you turn your back to walk away. When you turn again to see the stranger leave, you realize they are nowhere in sight. I know of incidents in hospitals and other places as well. I turned around on 121 to give an older woman a ride one night about 10PM. No other car was around except oncoming traffic. When I got to the spot where she was, she was gone. Gone in 30 seconds..........unbelievable. I guess God has His way of testing us.
Almost the same thing happened at a vets office. When I turned the second time to try to help this scrungey looking man, he was gone. Vanished in about a split second. Angels? Oh Yeah.....I believe in angels most definitely! It has happened to me to many times.
Like I said before, once you have been touched by God, you NEVER forget it and neither does He!
