thanks for posting that. it was amazing & scary @ the same time. smh. i know we are still job safe for a few more years. but i could definitely see a completely hi tech prison coming to a rec yard near you soon!!! should be interesting if the state will pay for it. its very true though, Columbia's annex was obsolete & broken in most places b4 it was done & everyone is saying that Suwanee is gonna be sooooooo hi tech!!! we shall see!!! unless they have new computers in every staff area i will not be convinced.

Would be really cool to see a super hi tech prison. Something like the inmates get a microchip shoved in their asses so ya can shut the idiots off when they get outta hand.. LOL.

i think they should have a Sabra red spray system that sprays it from the walls so you can gas an inmate from the officers station with the flip of a button. a shower head in the cell so you don't have to move em to shower them, windows that allow them to see out & up but not whats @ ground level, medication dispensing robots, cameras in each cell, 2 way speaker systems in each cell, an electric shock fence.......i could go on for days!!!

When I worked at Brevard CI we had a new Disc Confinement built from an old Pride building.. The warden at the time had the showers put in the cells with water cutoffs in the pipe alleys. Never had to take an inmate out of cell to shower them. We gave them 5 minutes and cut the water back off. Tallahassee a first didn't want to allow the showers in the cell due to cleanliness. They figured the showers would not get cleaned. But they finally agree to the showers in the cell. It was and still is great. He also had a rubber strip mounted on the outside bottom of the cell door to prevent fishing lines etc. and welded a 2" metal strip on the side of the sliding door so the inmates could not see out the crack and see the officers or nurses coming down the cell block. If they started hollering we could creep them without them seeing us.

I like the "obedience collars" that James T. Kirk and Spock had to wear once. It was awesome!
How many of you "old farts" out there remember that?

Yeah, I remember the "obedience collars", da*n it Jim, I'm a doctor not a computer.... ;D And hell yeah Lance, that's the way a cell block should be. How about sleeping gas for when lights go out.. How about a homing chip implant so ya know where the bastards are all the time. The same chip will alert the Dorm officer if an unauthorized inmate has entered the dorm, then the afore mentioned "obedience collars" would Zap his ass... Which would minimize paperwork and DRs . A simple incident report typed on a computer that is standard equipment in every dorm, would safice. Supplies from the old pull the knob type vending machines once the inmate scans his ass..

I seen a movie in the early 80's where inmates wore exploding collars. They had a partner but did not know who he was, if they got to far apart the collar would explode.
