To hell with the needles. A .45 to the back of the head and call it a day ;D . I would like to see the return of corporal punishment. One could argue that we have newer stupid laws, and an increase in this country's population as contributing factors to why so many are in prison. HOWEVER, brush these things aside, and theres still NO fear of retribution. If a f*ck a*s inmate does something to one of use, what happens? Usually NOTHING. But, let same said piece of sh*t tote an a*s whoppin', and YOU are wrong. It doesn't matter what he/she did to YOU. If you "punish" him/her, you are wrong. Doesn't make sense, does it? I say go back to the old days when prison was a place to be feared, or at the very least respected enough to make it so you didn't want to go there. Thats the whole problem with violent, criminal elements. They just have no fear of retribution.

Knuck you are on the money. I would supply the ammo and the 1911 if the state can't afford them in this budget crunch. It would not take many to the head to get the point accross.

Why to the back of the head? I say let them see it coming, then we all can stand back and laugh as we watch their eyes cross just before impact!

I know this is just you guys blowing off steam, but I don't really "enjoy" reading y'alls comments - it kind of takes the fire out of what Knuck's point really is (I think). Prison is supposed to be prison, not summer camp at the country club. I know I'm preaching to the choir on that one. But when you have "outsiders" reading this site, they don't really get what y'all really mean, they see the surface of it. Don't get me wrong--I REALLY DO BELIEVE that we are way too soft these days. Personally, I think we need to dress 'em in stripes, chain 'em together, and string them along the roadways picking up trash, edging, cleaning ditches, etc. We need to get some real work out of these people--most of whom have never done an hour of labor in their lives. You make them tired enough, they won't have the energy to get into more trouble. You make them work hard enough, they won't want to come back-even if it does mean 3 squares a day and a bed. You get the "goody" out of them before you turn them loose, maybe some of these dad-gum budget restraints will ease up. Just my thoughts, for what it's worth.....

She must not and who cares what an "outsider" thinks. I was not just blowing off steam, I meant it.

Better get comfy, get something to drink, and take a quick piss, cause this is fixin' to be a long post! I know I am not the best of writers, and perhaps what I type can be confusing. Maybe I should tell Druid what I mean and he can put it into words better than I ;D . The whole point to the post was, the criminal justice system as a whole , is FATALLY flawed. It is no longer just imperfect. Yes, there are some things I think an individual should NOT go to prison for. There are such things as illegal "laws". There are judges on the bench that should be "dethroned." Their job is to make sure the trial is fair. NOT making policy. Attorneys for both sides, for whatever kind of case, break the laws by "stacking" the jury. Jurors are told what they can, and cannot take into account. They are told that if they find that someone has broken the law, they MUST be punished. One of a jurors jobs, is to make sure that the law itself is fair or righteous. Bet most people who have done jury duty were never told that . What does all this have to do with Coolhands problem? ALOT! Lets say for arguments sake, that Coolhand decides to exhibit some kind of vengeance or wrath upon these fine upstanding individuals. Who is wrong? The killers? Or the killer who kills the killers? Most people who can think and feel, would say Coolhand is justified. BUT, not in the eyes of the law. So instead of Coolhand going out and making a real life, made for t.v. movie, Coolhand waits for a SPEEDY trial and hopes that JUSTICE is served. Coolhand FINALLY gets to hear the news that these fine upstanding individuals were sentenced. Oh damn! Theres a snag! None of these fine upstanding individuals get the death penalty or even life. Why? Because of their ages? A slick lawyer? A liberal judge? Brain dead jurors? Sentencing guidelines for that state? Maybe a combination of all of these things? So Coolhand is forced to take some measure of comfort that these fine upstanding individuals will do SOME time. These fine upstanding individuals are now in a state facility. Lets say for arguments sake, these fine upstanding individuals get 25-30 years for their crimes, and lets say this happened in Florida instead of Virginia. They are sent to Baker. They start causing problems there, so they are shipped to U.C.I. or F.S.P. were they can be "controlled" more. Again theres a snag. DAMN SNAGS! Because they got sent to either of these prisons, THEY are protected more because both of these facilities are, well, lets just say "known". Theres cameras all over the place now. So they are pretty much allowed to get away with anything. Lets say I have one of these fine upstanding individuals in my building. Everyday they show out, selling tickets because they know they are untouchable. Finally after all else has failed, I decide to get his mind right. Who's wrong? I AM. It doesn't matter that I did everything by the book and documented their behavior, I am still wrong for getting his mind right. But lets say I didn't smoke ones ass on the down low. Lets say I had a justified use of force. Remember, theres cameras all over the place watching. Say he throws sh*t on me, or tries and stabs me because he doesn't get his own way. I tie ass with him and come out on top. This fine upstanding individual has to be air lifted out. Does it matter that he may have tried to stab me? NOPE! I'll soon be talking to the F.B.I. and my job will be on the line, as well as possible criminal charges against me. Why? Because I used excessive force against a smaller individual. Damn what the "rules" say, I can assure you, you WILL be talking to G-Men. It doesn't matter that my life was in danger at the time. The only thing that matters is this fine upstanding individuals civil rights were violated because of the severity of the injuries he sustained. Now this fine upstanding individual gets some slick lawyer to sue the state. Think he'll win? Probably. Or at the very least the state will settle. Guess what? These fine upstanding individuals may have gotten time, but in the end, they still "won". So much for Coolhands family's rights, or ours.

???Seems pretty clear to me, Knuck. As for what outsiders think, here's an idea for them to mull over. Tally's considering releasing 3000 of our best inmates to save millions. How much more could be saved if we summarily executed 3000 of our worst CM's?

BLAM!! Now that's what I'm talkin' about... Well said knuckledragger ..
And I concur with the Executions also, there's a cool 20 million in savings that should raise the fat eyebrow of the assholes that keep them on death row for 10-15 years after sentencing.
And thx BKCISGT , all prayers are appreciated.....

Cool hand, My prays are with you and your family, I feel your pain, I know no matter what the assholes receive will never be enough time to pay for what they did. I personally think real justice would be to have a trail and once convicted by a jury they should be sentence to the custody of they family members who will then decide there fate. Which in your case, I would shot every one of them with the same gun and way and leave it in Gods hands to decide if they live in the same condition as you niece or just die slowly. Doing time or even given them the death penalty is too ease.
