Just had a thought. We as public servants to the great State Of Florida are subject to random substance testing. I as a Taxpaying citizen fee that persons on Government assistance be it welfare food stamps, housing assistance or whatever should be subject to the same testing. I have been contacting my Reps with my feelings. Government would save probably billions nationwide. More money at the state level to spend on pork still probably wouldn't get us a raise though.

I completely agree with your post. My opinion: Too many Liberals waiting to shut it down. I get so frustrated sometimes over the "good guys", just plain ol' law-abiding citizens getting screwed at every turn, while no-good, lazy crap of society gets a free ride. Just like this reinstatement of civil rights BS--so much work time is spent on paperwork for this, and if you ask me, the pieces of crap that want their rights back should be the ones doing the work for it. I don't care whether they have rights or not-do you?

Now this is very interesting. if you get these benefits and you have to go in for a drug test and fail the state will cancel your benefits. This has potential to be a drug use buster. Have you sent this idea to Governor Crist's office yet? I would say that the cost of the drug testing supplies would be more than offset by the savings gained by cost reductions......
