Hello everyone....I have a question I can't seem to get a straight answer to! I've recently took advantage of my right to carry a concealed weapon. And of course I carry it everywhere with me except to and from work. In my car I have an electronic gun safe bolted to my floor board for safe storage of my weapon when I can't have it on my person. What exactly is the rule on having my firearm in my car on institution property while I am working?

diehard, May I suggest you get a license from the State to carry a concealed weapon, we are not sworn LE's and do not have arrest powers. On institutional grounds in a vehicle that can be secured, in a locked box used for carrying weapons. Only can have ammo that will fill one magazine, clip or cylinder. I know many will dispute having a license but the law is up to interpretation and once you are arrested, it may be dropped but it will show an arrest.

Thank for the reply brucifer....... Yeah i have my Concealed carry license. Wouldn't take a chance carrying without one! But i have heard that has nothing to do with my weapon being in my car in the parking lot. That clears it up a little more for me...thank you

But i have heard that has nothing to do with my weapon being in my car in the parking lot. That clears it up a little more for me...thank you Policy agreed to by PBA and I believe DMS allows certified staff to carry 1 firearm per vehicle ( 4 people in vehicle only 1 firearm) The vehicle must be able to be locked and secured or the firearm may be put into a locked trunk. The firearm must first be secured (locked) into an approved case (designed for firearms). Only the amount of ammo which can fill the cylinder, clip or magazine can be carried load or unloaded in the approved secured case. The policy/rule/reg. is in print but I do not recall the numbers. You can remove the firearm from the vehicle while on State property. I know truthtracker can provide that, so they may chime in. Is it now clear as mud?
