Anyone know if it is true that Jefferson CI had a walk out due to the 12 hour shifts??? According to my contacts there, they had a few retire that were already close in order to avoid the July 1 changes. So far no-one had quit because of the 12s, most seem to like it. There were a few transfers to avoid the 12s, but some have tried to go back since thier buddies like them so much. I only have about three poeple over there though so I'm sure there are other opinions on the shifts themselves.

The issue at NWFRC with the 12 hours is we all are split down the middle, because of all the new and immature staff, they all are worried about the overtime they seem to think they will accumulate. How trivial, when you think of all the white shirts, and yes, they are a few decent ones, give the state for free now that they make them work for free after eight hours.

Nobody twisted their arm for a white shirt, I believe it was a choice. Not saying what DOC is doing is right, just that it was a personal choice.

how many would have made that choice, if they had known that they would be working for free?

booger man. Any one who has been a Sgt for more than two weeks knows. And if you have been a CO for more than three weeks you should know by then. Not trying to be a smartazz just pointing out the truth. Whiteshirts have to be in 1/2 hour early in most cases adn stay until all the paperwork is ssigned. And if there is a UoF or an inmate hanging around or some lameazz emergency the Warden coems up with.

What ever happened to the lawsuit the state was facing because the white shirts were not able to use their reg comp before going over 240hrs. At one point there was supposed to be all those extra Lt's positions opening up at all the institutions, then nothing?

Smoke and mirrors tactic for the dept. to cut positions without being to obvious about it. Cut 10 CO's for LT positions but when with drawing the decision they authorized each facility 5 CO positions back. ;D.

Anyone see the new list of promotions and laterals? The more things change, the more they stay the same.
