Tallahassee Police Officers receive a 12% increase in salary and benefits over a 3 year period. Contract negotiated by PBA. How in the HECK does that happen? SCO is the largest group in PBA and we always get the shaft!!!!! Maybe those red light cameras in Tally are doing the cops jobs better than they are.

Because the local politicians need the votes from their area but the state reps could care less about a state employee who can't affect them getting elected. That is the main reason.

Police Dept's also don't have anywhere near the number of staff as DOC. The cost of a pay raise for DOC would be in the millions and the legislature will not approve that anytime soon.

You make some valid points. If TPD is in the FRS, then at least their raise will pay for the FRS changes wanted by Towel. It is all a SHAM, if and when the gobernet cuts the employees positions, monies and the the public gets their entitlements cut and things only get worse then who will get the blame? The real mess begins 03/08/11, stay tuned for the screwing!!!!!!!

Screw PBA....I been a member since 1995 and when I needed them they said they would not help me. I hope they can survive on beans and rice. I learned I could thanks to them.

The Court ruled in favor of the PBA lawsuit against the FDC for privatization . The act by Florida government in the privatization of 18 counties is unconstitutional !!!!!!! Of course I am sure they will fix it by and thru the next session. Now lets see about the 3% pension suit.

Oh ye, of little faith. Crow is tasty? ;D ;D ;D Yes it is, just a few feathers to cough up. You can rest assured that FDC will get it right if the puppeteer wants it. We can only hope that the other Legislators will vote against privatization next time around. I think they have their sights on our health benefits next session.

That ruling will stand 100% imo but unfortunately I don't think legally the pension lawsuit will go anywhere since they grandftahered everything making it basically lawsuit proof. Good job on the privatization lawsuit PBA.

This is only round 1 in the battle, now the state will ask for a stay until the court of appeals can hear the states appeal.
It is a fact there is no election before the next session in tallahassee. JD Alexander will have this issue at the top of his personal B*ttF**k the DOC officers agenda. Whoever voted for this idiot should be tar and feathered.

I read the ruling and its basis and it will not be overtuned. I would be shocked if it was but they will lawsuit proof it this next session probably if they are hell bent on doing it.

Not only that but by the time they tried to push it through the legislation again and start the bidding process it will have to be effected 2013 which is too close to an election year, so I personally think we'll be safe for awhile at least until we get rid of Scott. .
