what does everyone think?? will it help? if you have paperwork already on file must you resubmit with the new forms? most of what they ask for should have already been taken care of when the personal dept. got your application. i guess like with everything else that has came down in the past year, ill just sit back & wait to see what happens.

It's a farce. Nothing has changed. There are still people getting promoted that have never put in a packet for promotion. All it takes is a phone call from a warden or region director to get someone promoted. It looks good on paper to satisfy the public that don't know better.

Well said Lance, it seems as if the current Administration is little more than the previous one made over, just like the new "fair" system for Majors and up, it still comes down to a waredn or regional director. At least with the previous bunch you knew what they were about they told you up front, there was no ploy or "I got a secret" you were in the crowd or out.

People can say what they want. The old crowd don't look so bad sometimes when you look at what we have now. This is still the same circus guys and gals just different clowns. Who needs a promotion packet when you get the phone call or the envelope. You said it....it looks good from the outside looking in.

Patman 44...I heard that it would be in early April. Hope it is sooner, but probably not. March is the end of the quarter.

Yes and there are people who will always be able to manipulate the system to their advantage. Case in point: You go for an interview say Sept,06, you out point everyone, including those who had a few years on ya. The whole shebang is thrown out and kept quite, for a while. Reason: You actually got the promo- tion but due to a technical issue, that some pissed off soul raised, just prevent them from missing the promotion, it gets thrown out. The questions did not come from the proper place, not to be gen- erated at the local but regional level. It actually happened and the person who filed got promoted the next go round, two months later. What a crock of @#$@%^.

What a joke. I am all for promoting but follow your own policies and don't change them when it suits you. Reporting an alleged rule violation does not automatically qualify you for a Major's position. The Florida Department of Corrections leadership is in the toilet. What is the difference between what we had and what we now have. They both do what they damn well please and the hell with the rest of us that bust our butts and deserve a fair chance at a promotion we have worked YEARS for!!

i completely agree. reporting a policy violation is called doing your job. if i got a promotion everytime i did my job i would be higher than the da*n president. i mean even crosby was a little more subtle atleast the guys he promoted usually went through each rank. it may have been a quick climb for some but at least it wasnt so da*n obvious. from sgt to major? but im gonna try to give the sec. benefit of the doubt. maybe he just doesnt know that Lt comes after sgt. somebody might want to get him a copy of DOCs rank structure.
