UCI has some pretty good Lt's to choose from for Capt. Turner, Cason, Cupcake, Bacon, Brown (when he gets off LT probation) probably a few others I missed. Dunlap would make a great Capt. and could have made it years ago had he been more "politically correct" at FSP and was willing to compromise his morals and sense of decency but I don't think he'll put in the paper work for it either.

What difference does that make? These days most of a Captains time is spent with staff and administrative duties anyway. Dunlap has been an admin Lt for years, knows how to deal with staff, is fair and SMART, knows policy and procedure backwards and forwards. I've seen how he deals with inmates 5-6 years ago at FSP and the Work Camp and he has alot of common sense as well as good judgment. He also backs his staff and will go to bat for them if something goes wrong, something that few of them are willing to do under this New World Order of a Dept. these days. I have also seen Dunlap do some pretty good damage control for good officers who did make errors in judgment and save their cans from gettin burned. He also is a decent and ethical guy with a good sense of humor, traits that to me are important in a supervisor.

Tell ya what Homer.....I would love for you to submit your app for Lt. I all ready know of one who has that I totally agree with. Perhaps this is something you would consider. If you or the other person I know were to get promoted, at least some of the BS would stop. That would be really cool!
On the other hand, if you didn't, I completely understand.

I would love to see Dunlap as Captain, heck, I'd even like to see him as Colonel. I'd work for him anytime. The man knows his stuff, backwards and forwards.

I would definately take Dunlap as a first choice over any of the rest of them. Cupcake would be a last resort. There you have it from one extreme to the other. Just my thoughts.

Corrections to the newly promoted at UCI:
John Palmer will be staying at UCI as Assistant Warden (aren't we just about the luckiest flipin institution in the whole damn state. OMFG! Stop the madness, I thought we got rid of his ass.)
Randy Tifft will be going to Bell-glades as Warden. Now he will be truly missed. He's a great Assistant Warden and I'm sure will be a good Warden.

To bad for those of you at UCI for being stuck with Palmer. However all of you slackers over at Putnam you had better get ready for the new Lt Loznicka, he's a really great person was a great sergeant but he wont put up with people not doing their jobs.

Is Loznicka the one who was at FSP and whose wife worked at New River?

If memory serves me correctly that would be a no. The loznicka whose wife was involved with inmates is a brother to the one who was just promoted to Lt. They are as differant as night and day, Lt Loz is a real class act, very proffesional this department could stand alot more like him. But as for the other one he could resign and move on and that would be good for this department as well. At least its a start. ;D

:)Yeah Homer, I have to agree with you Dunlap is top dawg as far as covering staff. He has covered my six numerous times and has showed me ways to keep from getting in a jam. I would say he is Colonel material, he is always used by the good ol' boys because they are never smarter than him when it comes to the paperwork. He is a work of art.
