We have had several issues pop up down our way that they have helped out with as well. Not just at the institutional level, but on the probation and parole side as well. Suspensions and write ups disappear. Terminations turned into write ups or nothing at all. So we see it down here too. ChaCI has a VERY high Membership % and 5 stewards. We are very involved down here as a whole.

Regardless of who the Teamsters endorses, this economy will be dictating pay and benefits along with retirements for years to come. The State simply cannot spend money they don't have or better yet don't feel like giving any to State Employees. The Teamsters can fight for better work conditions and fairness but it's hands off the money right now. Come July 1st it's going to get even tighter when the new budget goes into effect. Things like special comp. and investment retirement accounts just got a little smaller. Even when they do approve a pay raise, it will probably be 2-2.5% and then as always health insurance goes up along with other deductions. What a mess!
